Dear Sir,
I am certain you won’t mind my absence from home for an hour yesterday when you had to keep waiting all through. I really regret my absence, but I may tell you that my father’s illness had necessitated it. I never knew that his condition would become serious so soon. Eventually I had to go to the hospital to get him treated.
It should not be taken as a matter of discourtesy on my part. You were much inconvenienced on this account but I reached their afterwards and did the work, entrusted to me soon after. I feel you won’t take the incident too much too heart.
Wishing you all happiness,
