Dear Sir,

I acknowledge receipt of your letter of dated________________ pointing out delivery of a damaged package. We are sorry to learn it. But the Post Office cannot accept the liability for damages of any package unless it is insured. However, we shall try to do our best to look into the matter, and we shall consider your request for payment of damages, if it is established that the damage was caused due to the negligence of the postal staff in handling it. In the meantime, the enclosed from may please be sent to us duly filled in.
