What are the differences between Vested Rights and Contingent Rights?

This article describes the differences between Vested Rights and Contingent Rights.

Vested Rights

1. It is already a perfect right.

1. The vested right is heritable.
2. A vested right is not defeated by the death of the transferee before he obtains possession. The property passes to his heirs.

Contingent Rights

1. A contingent right becomes perfect, only a certain condition is fulfilled mentioned in the deed.
2. It is not heritable.
3. The contingent right is defeated by the death of the transferee before he obtains possession.

5. The transferee owns it merely conditionally.
