In secondary classes we have to direct our attention to the treatment of continents with increasing stress on the regional method of teaching of geography.
The regional method of teaching of geography is perfectly suited for the secondary school.
However before entering upon the teaching of geography of the continents the student must be familiar with the outlines of world geography from the point of view of human and economic geography.

Such a step may be considered as the final stage of transition period or the beginning of the Regional stage. The regional method of teaching of geography is based on realistic approach which is very much suited to the psychological requirements of adolescence.
The student’s previous knowledge of geography and his interest in subject is given a solid foundation. In the regional method of teaching of geography emphasis is placed on climatic conditions, rainfall, mineral wealth, natural vegetation, human resources etc.
Actually speaking this method of teaching geography is quite different from the political method of teaching of geography.
