ADVERTISEMENTS:
According to the Malthusian Theory population increases by geometrical progression. i.e., at the rate of 1,2,4,8,16,32, but the food production increases at the rate of arithmetical progression, i.e., at the rate of 1,2,3,4,5… So, the population faces an acute food-shortage. India is now facing such a problem. In the medieval period many people were dying for want of scientific treatment. Because science did no so much develop then. So, the birth rate was imbalanced with the death-rate. But now-a-days scientific treatment is saving even the poorest, the oldest and the weakest of men. So, the birth-rate has by far outnumbered the death-rate. So, India is facing the problem of highly increasing population.
Solution of the problem:
The solution of this problem lies in family-planning. A couple should not have more than two children. But the couple cannot keep off their union. However, a method has been found out. This will help not to have any child in spite of the conjugal union. In it the male or the female should get himself or herself operated upon by a qualified doctor.
Conclusion:
