How to make Menu item unclickable (unlink able/ no hyper link ) in order to go nowhere in Joomla ?

In some cases we don’t want to link some of our Joomla website menu to any article (web pages). It may be for numerous reasons. For myself I did that once when I have two drop down sub menus under a top menu.

For example under my top menu ‘Staff’ I had two drop down menu as (a) Teaching Staff (b) Non – Teaching Staff. So I want to unlink the Staff menu.

Solution

Method – 1

• Click on the menu item (Menu name to which we need to make unclickable).
• Now Click on the change type button.
• From the select Menu Item type frame click on the Separator option.

Method – 2

• Click on the menu item (Menu name to which we need to make unclickable).
• Now Click on the change type button.
• From the select Menu Item type section click on the External Link option.
• Now in the Link text box juts enter “#”.
