Motivation plays an important role in determining various types of entrepreneurs. Motivation denotes that power which influences the efforts of entrepreneurs to achieve the goals of enterprise.
Generally an entrepreneur is motivated to prove his skill and excellence in job perfor5mance. On the basis of motivation entrepreneurs are broadly classified as
1. Pure entrepreneur:
A pure entrepreneur is a person who is motivated by psychological and economic or monetary rewards. He performs an entrepreneurial activity for his personal satisfaction in work, ego or status.

Induced entrepreneur is an individual who is motivated to take up an entrepreneurial task due to the policy measures of the government that provides assistance, incentives, concessions and necessary overhead facilities to set up a new venture.
Most of the entrepreneurs are induced, entrepreneurs who enter business due to financial technical and several other facilities provided to them by State agencies to promote entrepreneurship.
3. Spontaneous entrepreneur:
These entrepreneurs start their business out of their natural talents. They are persons with initiative, boldness and confidence in their ability which motivate them to undertake entrepreneurial activities.
These entrepreneurs have a strong conviction and confidence in their own ability to make the venture successful. They are creative in nature.
