William Shakespeare (1564-1616) is considered to be the world’s most famous and prolific writer in English language. He was born in England. His most famous writing are: ‘Rameo and Juliet’, ‘Julius Caesar’, Antony and Cleopatra’, ‘Hamlet’, ‘Othello’, ‘Macbeth’, ‘King Lear’ and ‘The Merchant of Venice’. Shakespeare’s multifaceted talent to write poetry, tragedies, comedies, romances, and historical plays made him greatest literary genius. It is not only English literature but also world literature hat incomplete without Shakespeare. He passed away in 1616 but left behind a legacy of work for which new interpretations are being given even today.
