Vishwanathan Anand (b. 1969) is the first Indian and Asian to become the World Champion in chess. He started his training of chess at the age of six from his mother. Destiny crowned him with success at the tender age of fourteen years. He got numerous titles in national and International championships in chess. He could achieve all this because os his mental toughness and great concentration. He is known by many names like ‘One Man chess revolution’, ‘Boy Wonder’ and the ‘The Tiger of Madras’. He also won many awards for his achievements like Arjuna Award, Padma Shree, Padma Bhushan and many others. He has added a glorious chapter to the history of Indian sports.
