Dear Sir,
Your advertisement in today’s “Newspaper Name’ for ‘Office Assistant’ emphasises your need for a thoroughly competent person with sound educational background and sufficient practical office experience. Will you take a moment to consider my qualifications?
ADVERTISEMENTS:
I passed my Higher Secondary Examination from University ………………(name) in ………………(year) with high Second Class. The same year I joined ……………… College, from where I passed B.A. in ………………(year) with first class, securing distinction in English and Economics.
Since ………………(year) I am working as a clerk with ………………………………(company name), ………………(city name). During these four years of my experience, I have actually worked on Receipts and Despatches as a Cashier while the cashier had been away on leave, as a Typist, as an Accounts Clerk and as a General Clerk. I can write accounts independently, type accurately, draft letters to the point and co-ordinate between the staff for better output of work. Our Superintendent has recommended my case for promotion to the post of an Office Assistant but since the scales of pay in this firm are not attractive, I am submitting this application.
I am at present 26 years of age with good health.
In view of the fact that I have already picked up a good knowledge about office routine, I am confident that I will be able to perform my duties to your entire satisfaction, and will be an asset to your firm. If you will be good enough to offer me a chance, I would do my best to win your confidence by means of hard work, perseverance and devotion to duty.
ADVERTISEMENTS:
Hoping for an early reply.
Yours faithfully
