“Invisible” is Paul Auster’s thirteenth novel. he is the writer of the “The Invention of Solitude”, who became a best selling author with is lucid and effortless prose. He is an excellent teller of stories that are mostly good. The present novel is also a de-intensification of his self-contained narrative experiments. It contains four part’s narrative told in different perspectives.

The main character, Adam Walkers is 20 years old student who in 1967 meets the German-and-French speaking Rudolf Born at Columbia. Adam meets the girlfriend of Born and develops an affair with her. One day Born kills a mugger and flees and guilt consumes Adam. Auster’s characters are portrayed in such a way that calls for heightened psychological awareness.
